I recently joined the Family Matters podcast to share my lived experience with PTSD following a critical incident while serving in the New Zealand Police.
That moment changed everything. What followed was a battle with mental injury that led me to establish the Blue Hope Foundation – a charity committed to early intervention, suicide prevention, and support for police officers and their families navigating PTSD and depression.
In this episode, I talk about the hidden mental health crisis within the police, the systemic barriers to care, and how we’re working toward a future with zero police suicides in Aotearoa.
